Volunteers partnered with Habitat for Humanity to assemble kitchen cabinets that were to be sold at the ReStore.
“We were able to secure a 4-hour commitment at the Re-Store for the initial stage of our Community Service project. During these four hours, we assisted two younger volunteers in assembling kitchen cabinets that were to be sold. We also made corrections on some cabinets that had previously been installed and created a floor display that allowed customers ease of access to the finished project. We enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer. It was rewarding to work with younger volunteers and learn why they were volunteering. I hope that we inspired them to understand that you can volunteer at any age and also that hard work can be FUN! We were a small but mighty group who maintained a work-hard-play-hard vibe. It was inspiring to see the sheer volume of the donated goods and to realize that much of it was brand-new and in-the-box. Our efforts may not have been witnessed by the multitudes, but the tasks we completed will surely make a difference.”
