Volunteers rallied from the Detroit area and AmeriCorps volunteers (led by an old friend of Tyler’s) passing through joined forces with the Greening of Detroit for the second year to help plant hundreds of trees in historic Lafayette Park downtown Detroit. Our volunteers helped plant trees for one of the largest urban forestry experiments led by Michigan State University. A pair of our volunteers personally planted about 15 trees in a morning! Between the spirit of reforesting areas in need and assisting in an experiment in how to best re-forest urban areas, Tyler was with us all day.
