18 people came together at Fountain Rock Nature Center and Park in Walkersville, MD. We cleared over 300 pounds (two truck loads full) of weeds and invasive plants and shrubs to restore the Alice Nemitsas Butterfly Garden at Fountain Rock Park. We planted 34 native perennials attractive to butterflies in the garden and along the nature trails. We found a black rat snake who was very friendly. It was a hot sunny morning, we had great fun and made new friends.
