We had about 15 enthusiastic volunteers who spent Saturday morning working with Gateway Greening, a local group who encourage sustainable farming and urban agriculture through their community gardens. We were at one of their largest community gardens, which also serves as a demonstration plot for educational purposes. Despite the big rainstorm that happened late in the morning, we made a big dent in their to-do list, weeding many of the plots and planting some new seedlings around the garden. Many of the volunteers joined us later in the day to relax and have a few of those tasty Lagunitas brews, which was a terrific way to wrap up the day!
